Our Founder

Pat Teague grew up surrounded by standout athletes - the love of sports in in his DNA. Throughout his athletic career he experienced the heartache of seeing some teammates lose their way without a strategy to succeed in every area of their lives. The Lettermen's Club is one of the strategies that he has developed through his own ups and downs to equip the student athlete with a game plan to succeed on and off the field. Pat is a former NFL Linebacker with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after graduating from N.C. State University as an All-ACC Linebacker with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He is in the George Witfield Clinic Hall of Fame and in the Hall of Fame at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC where he received All-American honors in Football and All-Metro honors in Basketball as well as honors in Track & Field. Through the years, Pat has spoken to numerous groups such as businesses, churches, schools, athletic teams and youth groups encouraging them to run a winning race for life, and "To Go for Great"; In The Classroom, In Sports, and In The Community. Pat is currently an ordained Christian Minister, Husband, Father, Motivational Speaker, Professional Engineer, published Author, the Director of Sports Missions Outreach, and founder of The Lettermen's Club.

The Lettermen's Club

The primary goal of The Lettermen’s Club is to partner with the public school system, local community, and local businesses to provide opportunities to build lasting character in the student-athletes who are our future leaders using athletics as a catalyst. The Lettermen’s Club has a comprehensive measuring system to assist in building lasting character and good decision making by encouraging the athlete to lead in their community; in other words, to be a “3-dimensional impact player” on and off the field.

Athletics have been used to shape character in our youth today throughout our communities building morale, training leaders, and learning valuable lessons for life. This proposal is to maximize the use of sports to illustrate the intangible qualities needed to impact the community long after the glory days in the athletic arena. The traditional award of earning a letter representing your school has lost some of its true meaning. One reason can be that the expectations have been lowered to the point that it is no longer special. The Lettermen’s Club (LC) will add a level of excellence that can restore some degree of expectation that will challenge the athlete to achieve more than just making the team. This Club can assist in instilling some basic core values emphasized in our community. He/she can be awarded an “LC” for their efforts.

The Principal, Athletic Director and Coach can use it to keep their student athletes focused on the big picture and give them a lasting positive legacy. The NFL and the National Guard are eager for us to hammer out the game plan so we can partner with them to reach the nation. For example, in Wake Forest, NC a local business group NERBA (North East Regional Business Alliance) is assisting in the effort to mobilize the Wake Forest Community behind the goal of developing our future leaders.
